Bisa dibilang ini merupakan kali pertamanya kami merilis album twinkle daddy dan sekian lama juga merilis album post hardcore/emo setelah sebelumnya pernah ngerilis triple album dari aksi screamo asal Providence, Remainder. Kali ini rilisan datang dari kolektif twinkle daddy asal Philadelphia, Marietta. Sejauh ini kolektif twinkle daddy telah merilis satu buah demo, satu buah split EP, dan satu buah single. Dan alhamdulillah lagi kami ucapkan kali ini netlabel yang sok2an depresi ini dapat merilis sebuah kompilasi dari single, split EP, demo, sampai recorded live performance mereka.
Wokeh kita mulai dari pertama yang juga menjadi judul kompilasi ini "Yeah Yeah Utah" yang merupakan track pembuka dari split mereka bersama Modern Baseball, sebuah track yang sangat pas untuk menjadi titik penghantar hype dari album ini. Shouting vocal, dan lirik yang depresif akan dinginnya Utah bersama entitas yang ada di dalamnya akan dengan selamat sentosa mengantarkan kepada anda kepada moment emo tiada tara (Ah syedaaaapppp lo emang BOIM sejati kan! *Boim = Bocah Emo). Lalu track kedua diisi oleh tembang "Green Call Her Sims" yang tambah terdengar suasana saut2an emo yang kalo didengerin tuh "Uh!" banget deh pokoknya (Ih gak jelas deh lo kan!). Setelah dua lagu yang menjadi split dengan Modern Baseball tersebut, kini dilanjutkan dengan empat tembang yang dijadikan debut demo mereka dan salah satu yang paling standout adalah "God Bless Eric Taylor" yang bisa dibilang lagu ini dari guitar riff yang dikeluarkan cukup bisa dikatakan sedikit rumit di antara lagu-lagu yang lain dan juga part emo choir nya juga sangat terasa di tembang ini (PS : Ini sebenernya lagu yang didedikasikan untuk Eric Taylor, engineer yang udah berjasa ngerekamin demo mereka waaahhhh ternyata mereka ini merupakan boim-boim yang baik hatiiii #Najis #SokCute). Selain demo dan juga split EP, kompilasi ini juga diisi oleh recorded live performance mereka yang diambil di Sprinkle Kingdom. Okeh dan terakhir merupakan sebuah single mereka yang berjudul "O.K., Mom!" yang dengan jelas nampaknya single ini ditujukan untuk para ortu mereka (Waaaahhhh ternyata mereka ini boim-boim yang taat kepada orang tua juga yaaaaa #SekaliLagiGwLemparPakeTipi). Dan jelas tedengar pada lagu ini komposisi lagu yang ditampilkan sedikit lebih mengarah ke riff gitar yang lumayan ribet ala Cap'N'Jazz.
Sebenernya sih saya juga pengen menulis lebih panjang untuk liner note ini tapiiiiii ya saya tau kalo anda baca liner note ini kepanjangan juga akan mengakibatkan vertigo berkepanjangan oleh tata bahasa yang makin gak jelas makin ke sini. Jadi langsunglah arahkan cursor anda tanpa ada kata ragu dan unduh kompilasi dari Marietta dengan link di bawah ini! (Nih saking gak jelasnya bisa yeh ngurai ampe ampir satu paragraph jo!).
This is could be stated as the first time this netlabel comes up with a twinkle daddy stuff and a longtime for post-hardcore/emo release after Provindence screamo based release, Remainder, as well. And now the release comes from a Philly based twinkle daddy collective, Marietta. So far this twinkle daddy collective has released a split EP, a demo, and a single. And once again thankgod that this emo-wanna-be netlabel could released a compilation containing single, demo, split EP, and their live performance recording.
And first stop we got "Yeah Yeah Utah" which becomes the name of the compilation and the first track for their split with Modern Baseball. This one is a very fit stuff to get you into hype of the album. Chanting melodies and deppresive lyrics about Utah and its entity that will take you into an infinity emo moment #OMG. And then the second track, "Green Call Her Sims" with more sweet chanting vocals. After those two tracks featured on a comp with Modern Baseball, and now we're continue into the four songs which are put up as their debut demo and one of them which is the most stand up one, "God Bless Eric Taylor". This track not only features a good vocal harmony but also a more complicative guitar riff among the other tunes on the album. FYI this song is dedicated for a man put on the title, Eric Taylor, for engineering the demo songs. After a demo and a split album, this compilation also feature their recorded live performance taken from a gig at Sprinkle King Kingdom. And the last track is their latest single, "O.K., Mom!", which the track is dedicated for their parents and could be said that the guitar riffs itself has developed into more complicated than you can hear on the previous tunes. Yes you can hear some Cap'N'Jazz stuff here.
